Fibromuscular Dysplasia

Fibromuscular dysplasia is a rare condition in which the walls of medium-sized arteries develop abnormally, causing narrowing, bulging or tearing. The arteries to the kidneys and the neck are most often involved, which can lead to high blood pressure, headache, neck noise or, less often, stroke. Care includes blood pressure medicines, antiplatelet therapy where appropriate, imaging surveillance and sometimes angioplasty.
