Cushing's Syndrome

Cushing's Syndrome is a complex hormonal condition caused by prolonged exposure to high levels of cortisol, most commonly from a pituitary or adrenal tumour, or from long-term glucocorticoid medication. It is associated with central obesity, fragile skin, and serious metabolic complications. Diagnosis is notoriously difficult due to the wide variety of symptoms.
